Gifford W. Price graduated cum laude, Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Utah in 1965, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1968.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Price returned to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he joined a predecessor firm to the law firm of Callister, Nebeker & McCullough. Prior to joining the predecessor firm of Mackey Price & Mecham in 1989, he was a shareholder, director, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of a predecessor firm to Callister, Nebeker & McCullough. Mr. Price was with Mackey Price & Mecham until April 2017 when he joined the newly formed law firm of Mackey Price Law.
Mr. Price has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts, before the Utah Public Service Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Utah State Tax Commission, in addition to other regulatory experience, including experience with the Federal Aviation Administration. He has extensive experience in business and commercial litigation, including contract disputes, RICO, and products liability, as well as other areas of civil litigation. Mr. Price has practiced in the area of banking law, including lending transactions, and has experience in general corporate law.
He is a member of the Utah State Bar and has served as Chairman of the Utah State Bar Committee on Environmental Control and as a law school Fellow at the University of Utah College of Law in connection with an environmental seminar. In addition, he has served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Wasatch National Forest, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Utah Legal Aid Society, as Chairman for the Salt Lake County American Cancer Society Crusade, as a member of the Alumni Board of the University of Utah, as a member of the Athletic Board of the University of Utah, as Chairman of the Athletic Scholarship Fund at the University of Utah, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ulster Project - Utah, Inc., and as a member of the District Export Council (Utah), U.S. Department of Commerce. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the World Affairs Forum.
