ABOUT Guy W. Rogers

Guy has over 25 years experience in trial practice with emphasis on personal injury defense and insurance law. He has been practicing with the Brown Law Firm since 1986. Guy has tried more than 20 jury cases in Montana state and federal courts. He has also handled numerous appeals in the Montana Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth and Tenth Circuit. Representative cases which Guy has handled at trial and before Montana courts include Ridley v. Guarantee National Ins. Co., 951 P.2d 987 (Mont. 1997) (advance payment by an insurance company for medical expenses to an injured claimant); Watters v. Guarantee National Ins. Co., 3 P.3d 626 (Mont. 2000) (requirement of a release before payment of policy limits); Cusenbary v. USF&G, 37 P.3d 67 (Mont. 2001) (insurance coverage under a general liability policy for liquor liability claims); Shilhanek v. D-2 Trucking, Inc., 70 P.3d 721 (Mont. 2003) (trial counsel involving insurers duty to advance pay medical expenses up to policy limits); Robertus v. Farmers Union Mutual Ins. Co., 189 P.3d 582 (Mont. 2008) (jury trial and appellate counsel on stacking of underinsured motorist coverage); Revelation Industries v. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co., 206 P.3d 919 (Mont. 2009) (insurance coverage and duty to defend under commercial general liability policy for defective workmanship claims); and Peterson v. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co., 239 P.3d 904 (Mont. 2010) (trial and appellate counsel for St. Paul alleging insurance bad faith and violation of Montana's Unfair Trade Practices Act).
