Jafar M. Abuyounis

Jafar is a senior associate in WSHB’s Fort Lauderdale and Miami offices, where he handles a variety of civil litigation matters, including commercial transactions, business litigation, and general liability and casualty. In addition to his liability defense practice, Jafar has experience in employment litigation including wrongful termination, harassment and retaliation claims and Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) claims. He also represents attorneys and insurance brokers and agents in professional liability matters. Jafar is an experienced litigator who has taken cases from inception through post-trial proceedings, and he has served as a second-chair in trials in Fresno County and Madera County. Upon graduation from law school, Jafar received the Pro Bono Distinction award for his extensive volunteer service, volunteering for both Wills For Heroes, providing legal assistance to US military veterans, and the American Civil Liberties Union of Delaware. Jafar is a member of the the Arab American Bar Association and he is fluent in Arabic.
