James A. Lavoie

Jim Lavoie's varied background contributes to his success, including his service as an Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam and, later, his experience as a crop duster in Minnesota. Jim graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota, both as an undergraduate (B.A. magna cum laude, 1973) and from the Law School (J.D. cum laude, 1977). He began his practice as a prosecutor, serving as Mille Lacs County Attorney from 1979 to 1985, when he began his private practice in St. Cloud.

In 1991 he moved his practice to Minneapolis, but remains a resident of Milaca and is active in the Milaca community. Jim is proud to say that a great many of his clients come from Milaca and north central Minnesota. He is admitted to practice in both Minnesota and Wisconsin and is a member of the Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers. He also is a qualified neutral for mediation and arbitration.
