Jim Moss' practice includes litigation arising out of claims involving construction, including, but not limited to, construction defect, construction site injury and contract disputes. He has litigated matters ranging from personal injury and property damage claims to contractual disputes, large construction defect and construction injury cases, insurance coverage disputes, products liability, premises liability, defamation, wrongful death claims, workers' compensation, employment law and land disputes.
He has advised clients regarding drafting of contracts and warranties. Mr. Moss has experience defending clients against OSHA charges. Additionally, he is experienced in alternative dispute resolution as he has represented clients in mediation and arbitration in complex cases.
Mr. Moss is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Alabama. He is a member of numerous local, state and national organizations, including the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors and the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders. His publications include: "Responsible Parties in Job Site Safety" Alabama Construction News, Vol. 12 Number 1 (Fall 2004): 33-34, published in the September 2006 issue of For The Defense. Mr. Moss holds an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating for an attorney bestowed by that organization.
Mr. Moss is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1998 he graduated from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. Prior to attending law school, he worked in pharmaceutical sales as a sales representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Additionally, he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1987 until 1993 when he received an Honorable Discharge.
