Jason P. Levin is partner at Gafni & Levin LLP. Mr. Levin represents intellectual property owners in licensing deals and litigation and represents owners and investors in a wide range of matters including business, entertainment and real state.
Before joining Gafni & Levin and its predecessor firm, Mr. Levin practiced at several large law firms in Los Angeles and Boston on matters that included large-scale entertainment, employment, and intellectual property litigation; bankruptcies; and both regulatory and internal investigations (SEC, FINRA, State Attorney Generals and the DOJ). Previously, Mr. Levin worked at John Hancock Financial Services and MetLife Advisers, coordinating the corporate governance of mutual funds and ensuring compliance with internal fund policies and procedures and SEC regulations. He was chiefly responsible for a variety of fund filings.
Mr. Levin is a graduate of Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and received his Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law (Boston, MA). At Trinity, Mr. Levin was a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club and played varsity basketball, leading the team to the Division III Elite Eight. At Northeastern, he participated in the Domestic Violence Clinic, advocating for clients in civil restraining order matters. Additionally, during his time at Northeastern Mr. Levin interned for the Honorable Ann Walsh Bradley, Wisconsin Supreme Court; Brown University’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel; Stern, Shapiro, Weissberg & Garin LLP; and State Street Bank and Trust Company.
Outside of the office, Mr. Levin stays active in the community through work with many non-profits, including but not limited to the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of California, Harvard-Westlake School (Middle School Boys Basketball Coach from 2012-2015), Jewish Big Brothers (Solomon is his Little Brother).
Mr. Levin is an active member of the Bars of both Massachusetts and California.
