ABOUT Jeffrey A. Hegewald

Jeff has been practicing law since 2011, with a focus on construction law, business disputes, creditors’ rights, and a wide variety of complex litigation. His clients have included contractors, design professionals, business and property owners, transportation companies, construction material suppliers, and numerous trustees and assignees in bankruptcy/insolvency proceedings.

Jeff received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, graduating summa cum laude in 2005 with a triple major in history, political science, and Spanish. Before attending law school, Jeff worked for two years as a high school history teacher as part of Teach for America in the Rio Grande Valley. He graduated with honors from University of Miami’s School of Law in 2011. While attending law school, Jeff worked as a legal extern for Judge John K. Olson of the United States Bankruptcy Court - Southern District of Florida.

After receiving his Juris Doctor, Jeff was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011 and practiced with firms specializing in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and construction law. Jeff, his wife (Kyra), and their two children moved to Colorado in 2017 so they could enjoy the wonders of his home state. Jeff was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2017 and is licensed to practice before state and federal courts throughout Florida and Colorado, including bankruptcy courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
