Jennifer Siegel is an Associate in the New York office of Sanford Heisler, LLP, a national law firm with offices in Washington, DC, New York, and California. She received her law degree from Harvard Law School in 2011.Ms. Siegel represents clients in qui tam suits under the U.S. False Claims Act, as well in discrimination suits and other public interest matters. Most recently, in the case of Ohlmeyer ex rel. United States of America v. City of New York, she successfully represented a whistleblower who revealed that the City of New York Department of Education had submitted false claims for special education services.Ms. Siegel is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.While at Harvard Law School, Ms. Siegel served as an editor of the Journal on Legislation and as a research assistant to Dean Martha Minow. As research assistant to the Dean, Ms. Siegel compiled and analyzed social science research for a book about the evolution of education policy in the wake of Brown v. Board of Education.Prior to law school, Ms. Siegel was a political correspondent for the Forward newspaper, and has seen her reporting and commentary featured on CNN, NPR, and in the pages of national publications. She also has worked as an advocate for sustainable transportation and land-use policy in the New York metropolitan area and led campaigns on environmental issues in Missouri, North Carolina, and Florida.
