Jack Norton was born in Kansas City, Missouri and has been a lifelong resident of Clay and Platte counties. Mr. Norton attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with a B.A. in History in 1974. Mr. Norton attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he graduated with distinction in 1978. Mr. Norton was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1978 at which time he joined his father, William Harrison Norton, in the practice of law at Norton & Pollard, P.C., which later became Norton, Pollard & Norton P.C., and eventually Norton & Norfleet, P.C.
In his first 10 years of practice Mr. Norton had a general practice including domestic relations, traffic law, personal injury and numerous civil matters. Over the last 24 years Mr. Norton has developed a reputation as one of the preeminent medical malpractice and personal injury trial attorneys in the state of Missouri. Mr. Norton has tried in excess of 150 jury trials in his career and is credited with having obtained 7 verdicts in excess of $1 million. In 2004 Mr. Norton obtained a $22 million verdict on behalf of a brain-injured child who sustained injuries in a tractor-trailer accident. The verdict was the largest trucking verdict and the third largest overall verdict in the state of Missouri that year.
Jack was recently elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). The College, composed of the best of the trial bar, is for those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. He also received recent recognition by The National Trial Lawyers- Top 100 Trial Lawyers and was named to the Top Ten Attorneys by The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA)
Jack is married to Deborah Norton and they have four children, Elijah Norton, Hunter Norton, Keira Boyle and Kennedy Boyle.
