Joe forged his passion for justice through years representing clients from individual consumers, farmers, and cancer patients to Fortune 100 businesses and corporate executives. He possesses broad experience in practice areas including personal injury, products liability, premises liability, mass torts, insurance bad faith, toxic torts, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, lemon law, and employment law, among others. He is particularly proud of the opportunities he’s had to litigate on behalf of victims of sexual assault against both the perpetrators and the institutions which enable and protect them.
Prior to joining The Law Offices of John D. Halepaska, he practiced for a large firm based in Chicago, Illinois where he focused on defense of toxic tort litigation and a boutique firm in St. Louis, Missouri where he represented companies and executives in business, commercial and employment litigation. After many years defending companies against claims of wrongdoing in Missouri and Illinois, Joe felt his practice lacked purpose. He moved to Denver, Colorado and joined the plaintiff’s bar with renewed vigor and determination to help individuals harmed by those who put profits over people. He joined a small yet nationally renowned firm where he pursued mass torts against pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and agricultural companies. His passion for fighting on behalf of the “small guy” against the “big guy” grew exponentially as he represented thousands of persons who developed cancer following use of Roundup weed killer in litigation against Monsanto.
Joe grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated high school with honors and obtained an academic scholarship to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy. Joe earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina—also on an academic scholarship. He also spent a semester as an intern in Washington, D.C. and studied abroad in Florence, Italy, Shanghai, China and Nice, France.
