Karen Milner is an AV-rated attorney who has practiced law for more than 30 years. She consults with businesses and individuals, representing both in arbitration and in state and federal court in several contexts, including employment matters (with a focus on restrictive covenants and trade secrets), breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and unfair trade practice claims. Karen also assists clients in drafting employment agreements and related documents, and is a Subject Matter Expert on eDiscovery for a Fortune 50 corporation.
Before joining Rubin Fortunato, Karen practiced with a boutique litigation firm in New Orleans. She has represented major corporations, closely held businesses, local governments, and individuals in matters involving the rights and responsibilities of corporate officers, directors, and shareholders; securities litigation; and zoning/land use issues.
Prior to entering private practice, Karen clerked for Judge Albert Tate, Jr., during his tenure on the Louisiana Supreme Court and served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of New Orleans.
Karen was active in New Orleans local politics and served on the board of several nonprofits. For many years, she has served as an alumna interviewer for college and law school applicants. She currently serves as a member of a local Zoning Hearing Board.
