ABOUT Karen G. Brown

Karen G. Brown is a member of the Casualty Department. In that role, Karen's practice focuses on automobile liability defense, premises liability, and personal injury protection cases.

Karen began her career defending clients as a Public Defender for the 15th Judicial Circuit, where she practiced in the appellate division, county court, juvenile court, and in circuit court. She has tried numerous jury trials through verdict. Karen has also successfully argued before the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal.

After a successful career in public service, Karen embarked on her civil litigation career by representing major financial institutions in creditor disputes throughout the State of Florida. Most recently, she practiced insurance defense for major insurance carriers in the area of personal injury protection.

Karen obtained her Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Syracuse University in 2004 with dual majors in Political Science and Sociology, and a minor in Policy Studies. She then obtained her juris doctor from the University of Miami in 2007. During her law school career, Karen interned for the Honorable Mary Barzee (11th Judicial Circuit of Florida), was a Certified Legal Intern for the Office of The Public Defender (11th Judicial Circuit), and interned at a nationl law firm.

Karen is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, in addition to being a member of the Florida Bar.
