Katie L. Freeman is an ARlaw attorney the Northwest Arkansas office. Inspired by her personal life experiences, she describes her passion for and dedication to family law as a career that “chose” her. Raising a blended family of her own, Katie knows firsthand how to help modern families experiencing difficult dynamic changes thrive.
Focusing on all issues involving the family, which includes divorce, custody, paternity, child support, adoption, and guardianship, her compassion for others in situations similar to ones she has been in, makes her an empathetic partner who provides zealous representation on behalf of her clients. She approaches every person, every problem, and every case as if it were her own.
Katie was born and raised in Allen, Texas; however, she has made Northwest Arkansas her home for the past 12 years, and there is no place else she would rather live. She resides in Fayetteville with her husband, Grant, and their three children, Kaydence, Emery, and Barrett. Katie and her family are animal lovers and share their home with a blue heeler named Harley, a cat, Tabitha, and, thanks to an egg shortage in the summer of 2020, six super-entertaining backyard chickens. When she is not in the courtroom, Katie is most likely doing something outdoors, and you can often find her camping alongside one of Arkansas’ scenic lakes.
In college, Katie developed a strong desire to choose a career path that allowed her to assist the vulnerable and those in need and decided to pursue a career in the legal field. After graduating from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville with a degree in Political Science in 2011, she went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2014. Since then, Katie constantly strives to be anything but the stereotypical lawyer. She is licensed to practice in all Arkansas state courts, but she mainly takes cases in Carroll, Benton, Madison, Sebastian and Washington counties. Katie is also a certified attorney ad litem for domestic relations and probate cases and enjoys working with children in this capacity.
Katie has been in private practice for her entire career and has gained experience in the courtroom and built a rapport with the local judges. For contested family law matters, she is the exact attorney clients need – familiar with the law and comfortable in the courtroom. Katie enjoys being able to provide experienced advocacy for her clients and being able to support them through an unfamiliar, sometimes overwhelming, process.
