Kenneth ("Kenny") Lee was born and raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He earned his B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University, which he attended on a golf scholarship. He graduated cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2011, where he earned numerous awards in Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions, and served as an Editor on the Law Review. While in law school, he clerked at a thriving business litigation firm in Farmington Hills and subsequently joined the firm as an attorney after his graduation. He spent the first three years of his legal career at that firm, where he developed his skills as a litigator.
In February 2015, Kenny decided to pursue his dream of becoming a trial lawyer and he joined McKeen & Associates, P.C. Since then, he has concentrated his practice in the area of medical malpractice, and has also successfully represented clients in a variety of personal injury matters. Since that time, he has obtained tens of millions of dollars in settlements on behalf of his clients, representing victims of medical malpractice in cases involving surgical negligence, failure to timely treat and diagnose, negligent administration of contraindicated medications and/or treatment, sexual assault by healthcare providers, and a variety of other negligent acts.
In addition to the millions of dollars in settlements Kenny has helped his clients achieve, he has also enjoyed great success in the courtroom. In October 2016, he was part of a trial team, led by Brian McKeen, which obtained a $19 million jury verdict on behalf of their client in Wayne County, Michigan.
In May 2017, Kenny obtained a $250,000 trial verdict in Montcalm County on behalf of a client who had suffered a fall in the hospital after undergoing knee replacement surgery. Before the trial, the defense had only offered $7,000 to settle the case.
In January 2018, Kenny successfully represented a woman who was the victim of a negligently performed facelift surgery in Saginaw, Michigan. The case was litigated for two years, during which time the defendant refused to offer any monetary settlement. After seven days of trial, the Saginaw County jury returned a verdict of $400,000 in favor of Kenny's client. After the trial, he succeeded in obtaining court-ordered sanctions of over $93,000 against the defendant, in addition to the jury verdict.
In addition to his vast litigation experience, Kenny is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, State Bar of Florida, the American Association for Justice ("AAJ"), and an Executive Board member of the Michigan Association for Justice ("MAJ").
He has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2018 and 2019, a National Trial Lawyers "Top 40 Under 40" Trial lawyer in Michigan, and a Nationally Top Ranked Top 10 Under 40 lawyer by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys
