ABOUT Kensi M. Mays

Kensi Mays, a native Coloradan, is the newest member of CKBR. Kensi joined the firm in June 2017 after having attended Colorado State University (May 2012) and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (“DU”) (December 2016). She works with both the transactional and litigation departments at the firm, representing clients in a wide variety of cases and business deals.

Kensi gained a wide range of significant practical experience through her internship with Colorado Supreme Court Justice William W. Hood, III and as a student practitioner with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia in their white collar and major crimes divisions. Kensi also brings to CKBR the skills she honed through competition in the DU Student Trial Lawyers Association where she awarded Best Advocate in all rounds, Best Overall Advocate, and Best Defense Team. She was also a finalist in the DU Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition and co-authored the relevant published brief. Kensi’s talents are further evidenced by the multiple scholarships she was awarded throughout her law school career, including the Judge Alfred Harrell Endowed Scholarship, the Sturm College of Law Inclusive Excellence Award, the Michael D. Nosler Scholarship, and the James C. Owen Jr. Agron Scholarship.

Kensi is an active member of the Colorado legal community through her memberships in the Colorado Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association, Catholic Lawyers Guild of Colorado, Sam Cary Bar Association, and Denver Bar Association. Additionally, Kensi is committed to her work on behalf of the Center for Legal Inclusiveness and DU’s mentorship programs.

Prior to law school, Kensi worked for two years as a correctional officer with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. She enjoys traveling, participating in/watching sports, and spending time with her family.
