Kevin Giese Sweat concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on worker’s compensation, personal injury, family law, and business litigation. He also handles criminal cases and real estate disputes.
Sweat joined the firm in 2010, the same year he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law. While at UGA, he served both as a Student Bar Association senator and as vice president of his class, and worked for the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office through the law school’s prosecutorial clinic program.
A cum laude graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., Sweat earned undergraduate degrees in both political science and C.L.E.G.-a special major combining studies in communications, law, economics, and government. While in Washington, he interned on Capitol Hill for Representative John Barrow (D-GA) and Senator Bill Nelson (D-FLA).
In Georgia, he has been admitted to practice statewide, as well as before the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals. Sweat, a member of the Western Circuit Bar Association, resides in Athens, Ga., where he was born and raised.
