ABOUT Kevin J. Williams

After working for other firms for almost 18 years, Kevin opened his own firm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in early 2014. Prior to that, he practiced for 12 years at one of North Carolina’s preeminent plaintiff’s firms. There, Kevin handled all manner of catastrophic injury cases, as well as business disputes. Before that, Kevin spent almost 5 years representing insurance companies in all kinds of injury cases and insurance coverage matters. That experience provided him with valuable insight into how insurance companies handle and value claims.

Kevin currently handles all types of injury cases, including tractor trailer collisions, other motor vehicle accidents, worker’s compensation and medical malpractice cases. In addition, Kevin represents businesses that need an experienced litigator to handle contract disputes, employment agreement disputes, shareholder disputes, and business torts like fraud and misrepresentation. At the end of the day, Kevin is a civil litigator that has been trained to represent his clients’ interests passionately and skillfully regardless of the nature of the case.

Kevin is a graduate of Duke University. He earned his law degree from Wake Forest University in 1996. Kevin is active in a variety of professional organizations including the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the American Association for Justice. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina State Bar. Kevin is a past President of the Forsyth County Bar’s Young Lawyers’ Division. From 2009-11, Kevin was named a “Rising Star” by North Carolina’s Super Lawyers magazine. He received the distinction of “Super Lawyer” by the same publication in the area of medical malpractice litigation from 2012-2014, and in the area of general personal injury litigation from 2015-2018. Further, Kevin has been rated as an AV preeminent lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, which means that his fellow lawyers rank him in the highest category for ethical standards, legal excellence and professional abilities. He has also obtained the “Superb” lawyer ranking from Avvo, which is another company that profiles and ranks lawyers. Kevin currently serves on the Legal Affairs Committee and Small Office Practice Committee of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Kevin has been admitted to practice in all North Carolina federal district and state courts, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a frequent lecturer at CLEs across the state, has written numerous articles about trial practice, and is the author of a chapter in Personal Injury Practice in North Carolina, entitled “Identifying, Retaining and Training Expert Witnesses.”

As proud as Kevin is of his achievements and reputation in the courtroom, some of his most important accomplishments have come from hard work and efforts in the community to improve the lives of children and neighbors in need. Kevin and his wife are active supporters of many organizations including the Second Harvest Food Bank, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Brenner Children’s Hospital, Red Cross, the United Way, the Arts Council of Winston-Salem, and Centenary United Methodist Church. Kevin also serves as President of the Board of H.O.P.E., which is a local organization that helps feed hungry children in Winston-Salem. Kevin and his wife support our brave men and women in uniform, at home and abroad, through organizations such as Operation Homefront, North Carolina Trooper’s Association and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

When Kevin is not fighting for the rights of his clients, he enjoys exercise, golf and spending time with his wife, who is a talented litigator in her own right with the firm of Winston & Strawn, and two boys who like to play every sport under the sun.
