Kevin Hays is a native of Dallas, Texas and graduated from the University of Alabama Business School and the University of Alabama School of Law. While a college student, he was a member of the Crimson Tide football team and was teammates with such Bama football legends as Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett, Mike Shula, and Bobby Humphrey. Kevin was a Southeastern Conference baseball umpire from 1987-1998 and was on the umpiring crew for the 1998 Division II College World Series. He has also been a high school basketball official both in Alabama and in Texas for over 25 years.Kevin and his wife Suzan live in north Dallas and are parents to two grown children, Ashley and Walker, and a black lab named Biscuit. Kevin has been a practicing attorney since the early 1990s and has practiced extensively in the areas of criminal defense and real estate law/title insurance. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association- Criminal Defense Section, the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and the North Texas Basketball Officials Association. He and Suzan are active members at Prestonwood Baptist Church. His hobbies include watching college football, playing guitar, and spending time at the gun range.
