Kristen is a shareholder with Sirote & Permutt, P.C., where she has 20 years of general litigation experience with a focus on defending insurance companies in the area of life, health, disability, and ERISA litigation. Her work for insurers has included not only benefits litigation, but also defensive litigation where insureds claim fraud in the marketing and sale of insurance products. Kris also represents insurance brokers and IMOs in various types of disputes. She is a member of Sirote's Litigation Practice Group and handles appeals in both state and federal courts. Kris is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the Northern District of Florida, the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the Northern District of Illinois.
Why did you become an attorney?
I wanted to play a role in the complex legal system on which we all rely to govern and protect us.
What is the best part of your job?
When our clients need a court to listen to their story, I get to be their storyteller.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, my friends and my dogs. . . but not necessarily in that order.
