ABOUT Lucas A. Wallace

Lucas Wallace is an attorney in Odegaard Braukmann Law, PLLC’s Helena office.

Prior to joining Odegaard Braukmann, Lucas worked for the region’s largest law firm, Crowley Fleck, PLLP, where he trained under some of the most highly respected workers’ compensation defense lawyers in the state. In this position, he defended a number of workers’ compensation claims against Odegaard Braukmann, PLLC’s attorneys, and saw firsthand their passion and dedication to their clients. When Lucas decided to start representing injured people instead of big insurance companies, joining Odegaard Braukmann, PLLC was the obvious choice. The Helena branch office of Odegaard Braukman, PLLC opened in June of 2017.

Lucas was born in the coal mining town of Kemmerer, Wyoming. In 1982, his parents moved the family to the country and built a house on the Tongue River, near Dayton, Wyoming. Lucas learned the value of hard work early on, and developed a love of plants while helping out in the family business, a commercial greenhouse.

In 2003, Lucas graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s in English and a minor in Creative Writing. In 2004 he moved to Red Lodge, Montana to help care for his grandfather. As so often seems to happen with people who come to Montana, Lucas stuck around for a while. He learned a little French cooking while working at the Pollard Hotel, and a lot about the care and maintenance of spruce trees while working with a landscaping company. In 2008, Lucas returned to the Tongue River area, where he started his own lawn and landscaping company.

Lucas decided he wanted a career where he could help people, so in 2011 he applied to law school at the University of Wyoming. During law school, Lucas worked for the University of Wyoming Legal Services Program to help low income individuals with civil and family law cases. He was named the Legal Services Program Outstanding Student Attorney in 2014. Lucas was published in the Wyoming Law Review, and served on the Law Review Editorial Board. He interned for the Wyoming State Board of Equalization and for the Attorney General of the State of Wyoming. Lucas graduated in 2014, earning the law school’s highest academic honor, the Order of the Coif.

Lucas is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. Outside of work, Lucas can often be found working on his 1890s Victorian house, gardening, painting pictures of birds, or hitting the trails outside Helena with his fiance, Alyssa, and their two dogs.
