With more than 25 years of experience, Marc Benjamin counsels clients on diverse real estate projects, including office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, land for residential development, multifamily apartments, senior housing, industrial properties and vineyards.
His practice focuses on complex real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, development, financing and leasing of commercial real estate properties. Marc also regularly advises on the negotiation and structuring of complex joint venture agreements, and the development of improved and unimproved property.
Over the years, Marc has represented various clients, including institutional and private investors, investment organizations, individual property owners and developers, borrowers and lenders, landlords and tenants, and regional and national developers of retail, office and multifamily projects. In particular, Marc counseled an institutional real estate investor in the $2.875 billion sale of a 29 property office portfolio.
Marc currently serves as Partner in Charge of the Eversheds Sutherland Chicago office.

?Advised an institutional real estate investor on a joint venture for the acquisition of a mixed-use project consisting of a regional shopping center, two hotels and three office buildings, and in the subsequent expansion of the center.
Counseled an owner/developer in connection with the redevelopment and expansion of regional shopping centers nationally.
Advised an institutional real estate investor on the formation of a joint venture focused on land acquisition for residential development throughout the US, and on subsequent land acquisitions.
Represented a sponsor/developer in the formation of a joint venture to acquire land and develop luxury rental residences.
Counseled an institutional owner of residential condominium property in connection with the financing, restructuring and refinancing of a condominium conversion project.
Represented an owner/developer in connection with the acquisition and redevelopment of an international hotel brand.
Advised an institutional real estate investor in connection with the acquisition and then later sale of four hotel properties.
Counseled an institutional owner in connection with the acquisition of an approximately 120-property industrial portfolio.
Advised an institutional real estate investor in the sale of vineyards.
Advised on the negotiation of a ground lease and related documentation in connection with the development of a casino project in Schenectady, New York.
