ABOUT Mark K. Dausch

Area of Emphasis

Mark Dausch is a shareholder and co-chair of Babst Calland’s Litigation Group. He focuses his practice on environmental, energy and complex commercial litigation. As lead trial counsel, he has tried several environmental, energy and commercial cases in front of judges and juries.

Mr. Dausch’s environmental litigation experience includes representing businesses in environmental cost recovery cases, citizens’ suits and environmental class action cases. In addition, he represents businesses in litigation before the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board and other administrative forums, handling matters including civil penalty and enforcement action appeals, environmental permit appeals and water quality and mine subsidence claims.

His energy litigation experience includes representing oil and gas producers, midstream companies and contractors in lease dispute, commercial dispute, environmental tort, nuisance, personal injury, property damage and injunction claims.

In addition, Mr. Dausch has also represented businesses in a wide variety of complex litigation matters involving product liability, contract, warranty, tortious interference, fraud, antitrust, unfair trade practices, shareholder dispute claims and claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Background

Mr. Dausch graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in Economics. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University, where he graduated magna cum laude and served on the Editorial Board of the Duquesne Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Dausch also completed an externship with the Honorable David Stewart Cercone of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and served as a legal research assistant to Professor Kenneth E. Gray.
