ABOUT Maryanne Boreen

Maryanne moved to Alaska in 1988 for adventure and a law career. Maryanne has done insurance defense litigation, coverage analysis, and bad faith defense ever since. She has also branched out and done extensive work with experts reconstructing complex automobile accidents and has successfully defended police officers and Cities throughout Alaska concerning claims of excessive force and other constitutional law disputes. Maryanne does both litigation and appeal work. Her insurance related appeals include Myers v. Robertson and Allstate Insurance Company v. Falgoust.

Maryanne has momentarily flown Al Clayton’s Cessna 170 over the Chugach mountains on the outskirts of Anchorage. She quickly realized she should leave the flying to the experts. She finds her escape in other ways, including her long-term interest in metal sculpture. She now lives in Washington State from which she continues her Alaska law practice. Maryanne has a machine shop attached to her house where she can construct her unmarketable works of art late at night when the courthouse is closed.
