ABOUT Matthew Joseph Duco

Matthew J. Duco is an associate attorney with Spiros Law, P.C. Matt’s practice focuses on personal injury, workers’ compensation, social security, and insurance coverage/liability issues.Prior to joining Spiros Law, P.C., Matt gained experience working on complex lawsuits, wherein his efforts assisted in securing multi-million dollar settlements in a number of complex class-action lawsuits.Matt has a passion for helping people in need. As a result, he now focuses his practice on representing injured persons in a variety of personal injury cases. As an associate attorney for Spiros Law, P.C., he has relished the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of clients as they struggle through difficult times.In 2008, Matt graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he was awarded the NIU College of Law Alumni Council Award, best petitioner’s brief, and was a semifinalist in the College of Law’s 25th Annual Internal Moot Court Competition.Matt is also a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science. In 2003, he was selected as an Illinois Legislative Staff Internship Program fellow with the University of Illinois at Springfield’s Center for State Policy and Leadership, the foremost graduate program dedicated to Illinois State government.Matt lives in Champaign and enjoys fishing, bike riding, playing softball, watching Illini sports, and spending time with his family. He also is a participant of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s annual head-shaving event, raising critical funds for childhood cancer research. Sponsored by friends, family and peers, Matt shaves his head each year in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment.
