ABOUT Melissa D. Castillo

Melissa Castillo is an associate attorney in Margolis Edelstein’s Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania office.

Prior to joining Margolis Edelstein, Melissa practiced criminal defense as a trial attorney at the Defender Association of Philadelphia and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Barbara Crowell in the State of Delaware Family Court for the 2017-2018 term. Melissa graduated cum laude from Temple University, Beasley School of Law and was awarded the Lenard Sigal Memorial Award for excellence in criminal law studies. While at Temple Law, Melissa was a Law & Public Policy Scholar and a Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society Fellow. She served as Research Editor for the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and as a member of the Temple American Inns of Court. She interned at the Federal Community Defender’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, the Defender Association of Philadelphia, The Legal Aid Society of New York, The Sheller Center for Social Justice, and the Department of Justice, Office of Immigration Litigation.

Prior to law school, Melissa graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and majored in Journalism and International Affairs.
