ABOUT Meredith Firetog

Meredith Firetog is an Associate in the New York office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, a national law firm with offices in Washington, DC, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.A. with high honors from Swarthmore College, an M.St. with distinction in Women’s Studies from the University of Oxford, and her J.D. from Stanford Law School.

Prior to joining Sanford Heisler Sharp, Ms. Firetog clerked for the Honorable Gregory H. Woods of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Before her clerkship, Ms. Firetog was a litigation associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she worked on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters and various pro bono cases. In 2015, she was named a Sanctuary for Families Above & Beyond Honoree for Excellence in Pro Bono Advocacy for her representation of a sex trafficking victim seeking U.S. citizenship.

At Stanford Law School, Ms. Firetog was a member of the Stanford Law Review, serving as the Senior Symposium Editor for the 2014 symposium commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. She was also the Symposium Editor for the Stanford Law and Policy Review’s 2013 symposium entitled Roe v. Wade at 40. She additionally served the Co-President of the Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation, and served on the board of Women of Stanford Law. She was awarded the John Hart Ely Prize for Outstanding Performance in Gender, Law, and Public Policy. While at Stanford Law, Ms. Firetog participated in the Community Law Clinic, where she represented clients facing eviction proceedings as well as individuals seeking social security disability benefits. She also participated in Stanford’s International Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Clinic, where she conducted field research and contributed to a report concerning human rights violations in India.
