Michael Daugherty concentrates his practice on family and criminal law matters. His family law practice includes custody, visitation, child support, divorce, separation agreements, premarital agreements, and protective orders. His criminal law practice includes representing clients charged with minor traffic infractions to more serious offenses such as driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. Mr. Daugherty also represents clients that have been charged with committing crimes such as larceny, drug related offenses, assault and battery and other criminal offenses.
Mr. Daugherty approaches each case with his client's unique circumstances in mind and works to obtain the most favorable result for his clients, whether through negotiations or presenting his client's case in a trial.
Mr. Daugherty graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2008 with a major in Economics.
After college, Mr. Daugherty attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law where he graduated cum laude. While attending law school Mr. Daugherty was selected to be a member of the Moot Court Honor Board where he learned the importance and skill of oral advocacy and the necessity to be organized and prepared.
In 2012 Mr. Daugherty completed the Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia where he refined his trial advocacy skills to assist him in advocating more effectively for his clients.
Mr. Daugherty joined The Daugherty Law Firm in 2011 and has been successful in obtaining favorable results for our clients in several jurisdictions including Prince William County, Fairfax County, Fauquier County, Loudoun County, and Stafford County.
