Michael "Mike" Cully has more than 30 years of legal experience and handles a variety of civil matters, including business acquisitions, real estate transactions, condemnation, commercial litigation, and education law. Mike has been with Lowther Johnson since 1978, a member of the firm since 1980, and served as the managing partner for several years.
Mike has extensive trial experience in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. His practice extends beyond Missouri, having represented both individuals and businesses in litigation and transactional matters in numerous states including Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Mike is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Arkansas state courts.
Mike remains active in the SouthwestMissouri legal community. He is a past president and member of the Board of Directors of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and has served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee for more than 20 years. He speaks at many seminars and to numerous interest groups on a variety of topics. Mike's expertise and involvement in the legal community has earned him Martindale-Hubbell's prestigious "AV" rating, the highest peer rating available, signifying preeminent levels of professional excellence and ethical standards.
Outside his practice, Mike enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, hiking, and fishing. He is active in several community organizations, including serving as editor and contributing author to the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association's Guide to Personal Advocacy for Cancer Patients. His dedication was recognized in 1998, when the Heart-Lung Division of the American Cancer Society gave him the Outstanding Volunteer Award in Patient Programming for the Patient Advocacy Program.
