Ms. Fioravanti graduated from Villanova University in December 1985. She completed her college education in 3 1/2 years, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and minor in philosophy. She graduated magna cum laude with a 3.75 grade point average.
After college, Ms. Fioravanti received an academic scholarship from Villanova University Graduate School, where she attended for 2 semesters before starting law school. While in graduate school she taught a college level English course. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Villanova University School of Law in 1989. While in law school she clerked for a Philadelphia Common Pleas Court judge and was a certified legal intern with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.
Ms. Fioravanti is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to being licensed in these states, she is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Tax Court. Ms. Fioravanti is a certified arbitrator in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, Montgomery and Chester Counties. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She is also qualified to accept felony and misdemeanor criminal court appointments from the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, and is in the process of becoming qualified as defense counsel for cases in which the death sentence is authorized.
Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Fioravanti was an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia for 5 years. After the District Attorney's Office, she was an associate in the Litigation Department of the major Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block Schorr and Solis-Cohen. The governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania appointed her Assistant Counsel to the Office of Chief Counsel, a position she held for over a decade. She moderated several Continuing Legal Education classes as an Assistant Counsel. Ms. Fioravanti left her employment with the Commonwealth to pursue the private practice of law.
As an attorney, Ms. Fioravanti has litigated a broad variety of cases. Specifically, she has tried offenses such as DUI/DWI, underage drinking, car theft, aggravated and simple assault, theft, burglary, robbery, weapons offenses, felony and misdemeanor drug charges, carjacking, domestic violence, driving under suspension, driving without a license, driving without insurance, speeding tickets, reckless driving and others. Ms. Fioravanti has been identified as a Criminal Defense 2012 Top Lawyer by Main Line Today magazine. She also has been named as a 2012 Awesome Attorney in the areas of DUI, Criminal Defense and Traffic Law, and a 2012 Super Lawyer by Suburban Life magazine.
