Miles Kirshner is a partner in Margolis Edelstein’s Pittsburgh office. He is a defense litigator with extensive trial experience, having tried to verdict more than 150 jury and non-jury trials, involving diverse legal issues. When one’s opponents know that there is a credible trial threat, all avenues of disposition become possible.
Miles’ practice focuses on several areas. Chief among these are general liability claims including auto, truck, premises liability and construction injury claims, professional liability, toxic tort, security and hospitality, senior living, insurance coverage claims, Truth in Lending and Drivers Privacy Protection Act. The single thing that his clients have in common is that they come to Margolis Edelstein having a litigation problem, and needing a creative solution. More than a generation of experience has dictated that the right course is sometimes motions practice, sometimes settlement and sometimes trial.
Miles has served since 2012 as an Adjunct Professor of Law at University of Pittsburgh School of Law, annually teaching a course in Advanced Torts. He is a fellow in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, having served at different times on its Board of Governors and as the Chair of several committees. He has served as the President of Beth El Congregation of the South Hills for four years, from 2010-2014.
