ABOUT Mr. Brian Kent Tillman

“Every client is different, and each receives the level of attention they prefer. As well, every client’s crisis is as big a crisis to them as another’s truly serious situation. A college student’s pot case can be imposing to them, it’s all a matter of seeing it through their eyes.” Brian Tillman

Brian was born and raised in Waco, Texas, where he attended Midway High School. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Vermont Law School in 1998. While studying there, Brian interned at the Vermont Supreme Court, under Justice John A. Dooley, III. It was during this internship that Brian was first introduced to 4th Amendment law, and issues regarding police stops, search & seizure, and general criminal issues.

Brian was admitted in Vermont, and spent nearly five years practicing criminal law at the Law Office of Nicholas Hadden. He gained trial experience as a contract public defender, gained admission to the United States District Court, District of Vermont, and became a member and board member of the Vermont Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In addition, he attended the 2002 Western Trial Advocacy Institute in Laramie, Wyoming, which further shaped the way he views and handles criminal cases.

Brian returned home to Austin in 2004, and was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Texas. He is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, as well as the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the NORML Legal Committee. Brian takes immense personal satisfaction in helping people through some of their most difficult situations, and will go fishing if you turn your back on him for more than a few minutes.
