Joe Byars, Jr., a partner in the law firm of Byars, Hickey & Hall, PLLC (Fort Smith, Arkansas), has been in practice over 24 years. He began his career with the Dallas law firm of Miller, Hiersche, Martens & Hayward, where he immediately gained experience in business and employment litigation matters involving trade secretes, non-compete agreements and shareholder litigation.

In 1995 Joe moved to Fort Smith to join Eddie N. Christian and Eddie Christian, Jr., in their law practice. Joe has practiced continually in Fort Smith ever since, devoting his practice to civil litigation. Joe recently joined together with Kevin Hickey and Brent Hall, forming the law firm of Byars, Hickey & Hall, PLLC, where he continues to focus his practice on personal injury litigation, including serious injury and death cases, business and employment litigation. Joe also and handles Wills,Trusts and Estate Litigation.

Joe has a particular interest in wage and hour litigation, fighting for fair and lawful wages on behalf of hourly employees under the Arkansas wage law known as the Arkansas Minimum Wage Act, and the federal law known as the Fair Labor Standards Act. In accident cases, and in most employment related litigation, Joe works on "contingency," which means that the law firm is paid only in the event of obtaining a recovery in your case. If there is no recovery, then there is no fee.

Joe received his B.A. degree from Baylor University in Business Administration, and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas. In addition to admission to the Arkansas state court bar, Joe is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth, Tenth, and Fifth Circuits, the federal district courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
