ABOUT Mr. Michael J. Schreyer

Attorney Michael J. Schreyer is a managing partner with Alpert Schreyer, LLC a top rated law firm serving all of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Mr. Schreyer has spent the past 21 years providing aggressive representation to individuals from all walks of life who have suffered injuries in Maryland and the District of Columbia. During the course of his career, he has participated in more than 2,000 personal injury and worker's compensation cases earning him a well deserved reputation among his clients and peers as a highly skilled, knowledgeable and aggressive trial attorney. He is an accomplished appellate advocate who has overturned and defended trial court decisions through appeals to the highest courts in the Maryland and Federal judicial systems.

Mr. Schreyer has been the recipient of numerous awards and certificates for outstanding achievement. In 2010 he was appointed by the Governor of Maryland and confirmed by the Maryland Senate to the Advisory Committee for the Budget of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission. He has been a featured speaker for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers (MICPEL) concerning Insurance Claims, Law and Litigation, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Education Association (MWCEA) concerning current appellate cases and the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association concerning injuries suffered during employment travel. Mr. Schreyer also served as a Chairman of the Maryland State Bar Association's Negligence, Insurance & Workers' Compensation Section and as a member of both the MTLA Legislative Committee and the Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association. He is a member of the Amicus Committee of the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association, the current President of the Charles County Bar Association, and is actively involved in the Bar Associations of St. Mary's and Calvert Counties.

Mr. Schreyer has devoted 16 years to developing thorough trial skills and knowledge in more than one thousand personal injury and workers' compensation cases. An accomplished appellate advocate, he has overturned and defended trial court decisions through appeals to Maryland's highest courts. He has been a speaker for the Maryland Workers' Compensation Education Association state convention, concerning current appellate cases, and for the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association, concerning claims by traveling employees. He is a council member to the Maryland State Bar Association's Negligence, Insurance & Workers' Compensation Section, and he is a member of the Legislative & Amicus Brief Committees of the Maryland Trial Lawyers' Association. In addition to these activities he is actively involved in the Bar Associations of Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert Counties. A graduate of the Washington and Lee University School of Law, Mr. Schreyer also contributes his time on the boards of directors of several community service organizations.
