Mr. Peter R. Mifflin

Peter was born at the hospital formerly known as St. Ben’s in Washington Terrace, Utah, and grew up in Clearfield, Utah. He graduated from Clearfield High School where he was a two-time varsity letterman in football and a three time varsity letterman in debate.

While attending college on a debate scholarship at Brigham Young University – Idaho, Peter braved several southeastern Idaho winters. He won many debates on a variety of issues and topics in regional, national, and international competitions. His most proud victory was his 2002 triumph over a Russian team at a competition held in the Transylvanian Alps.

After graduating from BYU, Peter lived in northeastern Mexico for several years, where he learned to speak Spanish and realized that he wanted to be a lawyer. He moved back to Idaho to attend the University of Idaho College of Law, in Moscow, Idaho. While there, he served as president of the Student Advocates for Hispanic/Latino Support and Awareness, which provides Spanish language support services.

Peter graduated from law school in 2009 and passed the Utah Bar Exam that same year. Entering the legal profession at the height of the Great Recession-when jobs were scarce-Peter understands and empathizes with those who are able to work due to circumstances outside their control.

Due to the recession, Peter relocated to South Ogden, Utah, to find work. When he returned to Utah, he was delighted to learn that Utah also has “real” taco carts (if you know where to look). He worked on a wide variety of legal cases in Ogden until, in 2011, he was offered a position in the Salt Lake City office of Robert J. DeBry & Associates.

In 2013, Peter refocused his legal practice. He now focuses on helping clients fight back against insurance companies who deny their rights to compensation. Peter believes in the judicial process and its ability to ensure justice is served for all.

When he’s not practicing law, Peter enjoys visiting Mexico to maintain his fluency in Spanish. He has a goal to visit each of the 39 Mexican states. He has visited 10 so far.
