Robert Travieso is an Associate in our office in Jacksonville, Florida, and he represents hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in complex personal injury and medical negligence cases throughout Florida. In addition to medical malpractice matters, he handles a variety of health care, general liability and business litigation issues.
Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Robert was a litigator at a boutique firm in Coral Gables, Florida, where he represented several hospital systems on a wide range of medical malpractice matters, including catastrophic birth-related neurologic injuries and wrongful deaths.
Earlier in his legal career, Robert was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, the fourth largest prosecutor’s office in the nation. He was a member of the specialized Career Criminal & Robbery Unit and prosecuted some of the most violent criminals and complex cases. During his tenure, he tried nearly two dozen cases to verdict.
Robert began his professional career as a financial analyst for Standard & Poor’s, the world’s leading provider of credit ratings for government, corporate, financial sector, structured finance, and securities entities. He was based out of S & P’s New York City office, and spent time in London on a secondment.
Robert earned a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University Law School, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of The George Washington International Law Review and a member of the moot court board. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, summa cum laude, from Florida State University.
Robert lives in the Jacksonville area with his wife and two daughters, and he spends as much time as possible outdoors to take advantage of all the activities that North Florida has to offer.
Robert is an experienced litigator who has represented hospital systems, physicians and other health care providers in complex, high-stakes medical malpractice and negligence lawsuits including birth injuries and wrongful death. He also represents clients in a wide variety of health care disputes, general liability and business litigation matters.
