Noyl Houston grew up in Trumann, Arkansas, and began practicing law in his hometown in 1978. He moved his practice to Jonesboro, Arkansas, in 1985.
Mr. Houston has been active in his church, community and profession throughout his life and career. He obtained professional distinction by winning a case before the United States Supreme Court, and he has also had the honor of being appointed to serve as a Special Justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court on three occasions.
From his beginning as a small town lawyer and prosecutor, Mr. Houston's practice has evolved into an extensive civil practice emphasizing personal injury, property, domestic and other litigation, as well as advising and assisting clients with wills, trusts, estates, guardianships and other matters.
Mr. Houston finds the greatest satisfaction in obtaining just compensation for people and families when they or loved ones have been wrongfully injured or killed in collisions or by defective products. Illustrative cases include helping a man in the prime of life obtain just compensation denied by an insurance company when he was tragically injured and disabled, Witt v. Allen & Son, Inc. (Ark. App. 9/2/2009), and helping a state trooper's widow battle the State of Arkansas all the way to the U. S. Supreme Court to obtain the benefits she deserved, Rose v. Arkansas State Police (479 U.S. 1, 1986).
