Peter C. Greenlee was born in Barron County, went to elementary school in Bloomer and high school in Shawano. With family roots in Eau Claire, he returned and obtained a law enforcement degree at Chippewa Valley Technical Institute. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Winona State University in 1989. After working as a paralegal in Cloquet MN, he graduated from Mitchell-Hamline School of Law in 1993.
While in law school, Peter clerked for a regarded twin cities law firm who specialized in municipal law. He was privileged to work as a student lawyer in criminal prosecutions and real estate matters. Peter also enjoyed a year with the Minnesota Department of Education in the Office of Monitoring and Compliance, where he assisted Minnesota school districts with special education and civil rights laws. He represented that agency’s finance and accounting for the Governor’s biennial budget.
Peter and his family have made their home in the Duluth area since 1994, where Peter began his law career in general practice, helping people with business, real estate, criminal defense and family law matters. In 1997 he began specializing in bankruptcy law and financial restructuring. He found his true love in guiding people through the trials and tribulations of financial distress, and founded Greenlee Law Office in 1999. He has represented thousands of consumers and small businesses in Northwestern Wisconsin, Northeast MN and North Dakota. After 21 years as s solo practitioner, He joined Nicolet Law Firm in 2019.
Peter and his wife Susan are lifelong Packer fans living in the land of the Vikings. He has to buy fishing and hunting licenses in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. He enjoys outdoor activities and the beautiful surroundings unique to Lake Gitchi Gummi.
