ABOUT Regis C. Worley, Jr

Regis Worley is a Special Counsel working with Eversheds Sutherland. He counsels clients in all matters of intellectual property and works with them to protect and enforce their various technologies, including medical devices, manufacturing equipment, software and computer hardware, and consumer electronics.

He focuses his practice on complex intellectual property (IP) litigation, patent prosecution, trade secret litigation, IP due diligence, product liability litigation, preparation of validity and non-infringement opinions, and contract/licensing issues.

With a background in mechanical engineering, he is also a registered patent attorney and has patent prosecution and interference experience before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Regis also provides pro bono legal services where he represents persecuted aliens who are seeking asylum in the United States. As a result of his past pro bono work, he received the Casa Cornelia Law Center’s “Inn of Court Pro Bono Publico Award” for outstanding contribution to the legal profession representing victims of human and civil rights violations.

Additionally, he serves as an Engineering Duty Officer in the reserve component of the United States Navy and is a licensed professional engineer.

His past experience includes working as an intellectual property and litigation associate at several global and regional law firms.

Prior to his law career, Regis founded and managed a forensic consulting corporation and testified as an expert witness regarding forensic and biomechanical engineering issues in more than 75 trials, arbitrations and depositions.
