Robert Ward focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law, including strategic patent counseling, patent prosecution, patent litigation and technology transactions.
Robert’s practice involves patent portfolio development and management as well as IP due diligence and opinions often involving patentability, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Robert also counsels clients in all stages of intellectual property litigation and post-grant proceedings before the USPTO. Robert draws upon his engineering background to provide guidance in a broad range of technologies including medical devices, software, artificial intelligence, electronics, telecommunications, and electromechanical systems.
In addition to procuring and enforcing intellectual property rights, Robert has advised emerging and established companies on various IP and business transactions ranging from IT services agreements to collaboration agreements in the healthcare space.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Robert worked at multi-national law firms where he advised clients in all areas of intellectual property including patent counseling and litigation as well technology transactions.
