ABOUT Robert Medina

Robert Medina is 100% local, born in Houston, Texas and raised in Baytown, Texas. A 2000 graduate of the University of Houston, Robert began his tenure in the legal field by working as a legal assistant, case manager, and investigator for many years in both plaintiff and defense litigation firms.

During this time, Robert assisted on various cases involving mesothelioma claims, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, products liability claims involving automobile and tire manufacturers, and the March 2005 British Petroleum refinery explosion in Texas City, Texas.

Robert earned his law degree in 2009 at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. After law school, Robert cut his teeth working on various types of cases: traffic tickets; landlord-tenant matters; overtime claims; personal injury cases; criminal defense; divorce; parent-child relationships; child support; contract disputes; and many more. For a time, Robert worked at Williamson Rusnak as an associate attorney on cases involving breaches of fiduciary duties, legal malpractice, and class-action claims stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill.

Robert learned to appreciate the value of being able to apply oneself to a variety of cases in order to help find a solution to a client’s problem. Robert began his solo practice in 2014. In that time, Robert has helped a variety of clients in a variety of cases. Currently Robert’s practice consists of about 75% civil cases (including family law and personal injury) and 25% criminal cases. Robert utilizes litigation tactics learned during his many years in civil litigation in order to better advocate for his clients. As the old saying goes: “If you prepare for a trial, you will likely settle. If you prepare to settle, you will likely have a trial.”

On Sundays, Robert sometimes makes a decent pot of lentil soup.

Mr. Medina’s “of counsel” association with the Giron Kirby Law Group allows it to coordinate comprehensive legal services for its clients in the fields of family law and criminal law.
