Ryan Cooper is an Associate in the Washington, DC office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, a national law firm with offices in Washington, DC, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from Yale Law School.
Prior to joining Sanford Heisler Sharp, Mr. Cooper clerked for the Honorable Robert Pitman of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Following his clerkship, he served as an Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellow at a public defender’s office in Austin, Texas, where he represented individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities facing criminal charges.
At Yale Law School, Mr. Cooper served as the co-editor-in-chief of the Yale Law & Policy Review. He was also a member of the Education Adequacy Project, where he represented clients challenging the constitutionality of Connecticut’s system for funding public education, and the Criminal Justice Clinic, where he represented clients on criminal cases in Connecticut state court.
Prior to his career in the law, Mr. Cooper worked at a large international strategy consulting firm.
