Firm History
Sam Mitchell began his career in the law by joining Leonard J. Dunn and Associates, the oldest and first civil trial firm in the area that completely restricted the practice of law to personal injury and medical cases solely on behalf of Plaintiffs. In 1968, he was sworn in early at the private office of one of the members of the Supreme Court of Illinois so that he could try his first jury trial. He subsequently became the firm’s primary trial attorney at the law firm Mitchell and Dunn, before eventually becoming Sam C. Mitchell & Associates.
Although the firm has primarily focused on cases involving Illinois and the surrounding area, Mr. Mitchell’s personal injury practice has, over the years, taken him to 22 different states. Rather early on, the firm developed a team approach generally involving multiple members of the firm’s staff and with the firm’s sole focus being on Plaintiff’s personal injury cases, death cases, and medical issues.
