Sherry B. Shavit

Sherry Shavit graduated from UCLA magna cum laude in 1992. Following a career in human resources, Ms. Shavit received her J.D. in 1997 from University of Southern California. During law school, Ms. Shavit was an intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Shavit worked as an associate with Ballard Rosenberg & Golper and Epstein Becker & Green, and a partner with Brown Gitt Law Group LLP, before joining Tharpe & Howell, LLP as a partner. Ms. Shavit represents and counsels employers in numerous areas of employment law and litigation. Ms. Shavit also prepares employee handbooks, employment agreements, and employment policies and procedures. She conducts workplace investigations and training. Law & Politics Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine named Ms. Shavit as a Southern California Rising Star for 2007-2010. She also was selected as a Top Attorney by Pasadena Magazine in 2012. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is a contributing author to the CEB publication "Drafting Employment Documents for California Employers.".
