ABOUT Todd W. Baxter

Mr. Baxter has been practicing appellate litigation, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith litigation since 1991. Upon graduation from the law school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990, he joined the firm of McCormick Barstow.

Experience

Mr. Baxter has represented insurance company clients in insurance coverage disputes and insurance bad faith litigation in state and federal courts in California. Mr. Baxter has been certified by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Appellate Law. He has extensive experience in appeals before the California Supreme Court, the California Appellate Courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California Federal District Courts.

Mr. Baxter is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of California and State of Nebraska, U.S. Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit, and U.S. Supreme Court.

Honors & Awards

Mr. Baxter is AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated with Martindale-Hubbell. He is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the recipient of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Distinguished Achievement Award for Advocacy. Mr. Baxter was also selected for inclusion in the Northern California Super Lawyers list (2013-2016 and 2019) for his primary area of practice in Appellate Law. Mr. Baxter shares the Association for Continuing Legal Education’s (ACLEA) Best Award as co-author of the CEB book, Neighbor Disputes: Law and Litigation.
