Travis Sasser has practiced bankruptcy law since 2000. He has represented thousands of individuals and businesses. Travis graduated from Cary High School. He then attended North Carolina State University where he received a degree in political science in 1995. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1999.
Travis developed an affinity for bankruptcy law during law school and decided to concentrate in that area. The firm remained a solo operation for eight years until his brother, Philip, joined the firm. In 2010, attorney Cort Walker joined the firm.
In addition to the thousands of cases he has handled, Travis has represented parties in Adversary Proceedings and appeals to the US District Court and the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Travis became a board-certified specialist in consumer bankruptcy law in 2004.
Some of the favorable court rulings he has been involved with include ones involving exemption planning, creditor misconduct and dischargeability litigation. The firm’s name is attached to 100+ bankruptcy opinions in the LEXIS NEXIS CASE database.
Travis’s goal is to provide quality Bankruptcy representation at a reasonable cost. Travis’s interest in bankruptcy law extends beyond his own firm and his own practice. He serves on the Bankruptcy Law Committee of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and is a contributor to the Eastern District of North Carolina case updates for the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He has presented at numerous continuing education programs related to bankruptcy law.
He is active in his church where he currently leads its Royal Ranger ministry for boys. In his spare time, he enjoys travel and history. He is married to Joy Sasser and they have four children.
