Vanessa is a native of New Jersey, but she spent most of her childhood in Uruguay, where her parents are from. As a result, she is fluent in Spanish. Vanessa is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she majored in psychology. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University- Norman Adrian Wiggins School of law in 2017.
Prior to attending law school, Vanessa served our country as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army. She deployed to Haiti and to Afghanistan. Her experience in the Army gave her a sense of duty and service, which she carried into the practice of law when representing clients.
Vanessa has experience in family law matters including child custody/support, divorce, domestic violence protective orders and international civil child abduction. She has experience navigating the courts of Wake and Johnston counties as well as Federal Court.
Vanessa lives with her husband, two stepchildren and three dogs. She tries her best not to let the amount of animals outnumber the humans in the house. Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, soccer, hiking, reading and traveling. She visited 14 countries so far and hopes to visit many more. If you come in to speak with her and you are looking for book recommendations, feel free to ask her what she is currently reading.
Vanessa understands the struggles, turmoil and even the joys in a family law case both from a personal and professional perspective. “There is not only a legal aspect, but also a very personal and emotional aspect to a family law case. As a lawyer, it is important to fully understand both in order to provide zealous advocacy on behalf of my clients.”
