Gus Saines has over thirty years of litigation experience in the areas of insurance defense, construction, personal injury, malpractice, products liability, industrial accidents, and insurance bad faith law through appeal. He practices in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
As a member of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generals Corps (1986-1990), he began his litigation experience immediately upon graduation from law school, quickly becoming senior trial counsel in the prosecution of criminal offenses, including the only officer court martial during his tenure at Fort Knox, where he also served as an instructor at the U.S. Army Armor School. His stint as prosecutor was followed by duty in the Republic of Korea in the Trial Defense Service and ultimately, as the officer in charge of a Trial Defense Service field office. He successfully prosecuted and defended approximately one hundred cases, many of them through jury trial.
Gus ended his successful Army career and relocated to the Wheeling where he has been retained by some of the largest insurers in the world as well as local and national corporations and individual members of the community handling their trial needs. For the past fifteen years, he has tried numerous cases to a jury primarily in the personal injury area. His expertise in the area of myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia has been recognized by his clients and other attorneys statewide. He has also served as a mediator and arbitrator in Ohio and West Virginia.
Gus is married to Kelly, who also works in Wheeling, West Virginia, and they have two children who attend a local catholic school.
