"A commitment to clients requires a commitment to community."
When Bill Blumer began practicing law, he was drawn to the creativity it required to resolve client problems. “Each client’s situation is unique,” he notes, “and each deserves advice and solutions tailored to his or her circumstances.” Bill practices in the areas of estate planning, elder law, estate administration, fiduciary litigation and business representation.
Elder law is Bill’s forte. He is one of the most highly regarded elder law attorneys in Berks County. In fact, he is one of approximately 60 attorneys in Pennsylvania, and one of only two attorneys practicing in Berks County, certified in elder law by the National Elder Law Foundation.
Bill speaks frequently about estate planning and elder law issues and teaches classes for Berks Encore about estate planning, planning for incapacity, asset protection planning and how to use a power of attorney properly. Currently, Bill chairs the estate planning and elder law section of the Berks County Bar Association. He also volunteers as a trustee of the Berks Community Trust, a pooled supplemental needs trust for people with disabilities. He also is a past president of the Berks County Estate Planning Council, served as the chairman of the board of directors at Berks Encore, and has volunteered on the boards of the Berks County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Reading Symphony Orchestra.
Bill is a graduate of Bucknell University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Dickinson School of Law; and holds a Master of Laws degree in taxation from the Villanova University School of Law. “I want clients to feel they received more from the firm than they expected,” says Bill, “and that means seeing problems the client doesn’t see and offering a solution before the problem even arises.”
