North Miami, FL, One Killed and Four Injured After Vehicle Crashes into Church

On Saturday, North Miami police were called to 13995 W. Dixie Highway, the location of a small church, after a vehicle crashed into the back wall of the building, reports the Miami Herald. Officials say that at around 2:00 a.m., a car carrying five people collided into the church. A woman who had heard the crash called 911 after seeing the victims in the accident bleeding.

The 911 caller said that two of the girls that were involved were “hurt pretty bad” and one of the guys “had blood gushing out.” After officers arrived at the scene, they said some people inside the vehicle were trying to climb out of the broken windows while others were being helped by bystanders. Police say it isn’t clear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Due to the severity of the impact, four of the occupants had to be transported to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. The fifth occupant was transported to North Shore Medical Center. Sadly, one person did not survive the crash although officials have to yet to disclose the name of that individual. Police say they are conducting an investigation into the incident to determine if charges need to be filed.
