What are the laws on sexual harassment? 

 

There are three notable laws on sexual harassment in Louisiana applicable to your situation. Firstly, everyone in the country is protected from sexual harassment under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which applies to all companies with 15 or more employees.

Controversy surrounding Louisiana State University 

 

All colleges and universities in our state require special anti-sexual harassment training to help prevent crime from happening on campus. On top of the training, schools are supposed to have concrete protocols in place to record and deal with incidents when they happen. 

 

LSU came under scrutiny in March of 2021 when it was discovered that less than two-thirds of the staff were actually following through with the measures. Thousands of students and staff hadn’t taken part in the training. Officials at the universities are supposed to submit annual reports on incidents. Out of the 5 LSU campuses, only the Baton Rouge branch submitted the document on time.
